Are you looking to make changes in your life and find that inner peace?
Although it might seem like an impossible task, there is a way out and you really can start to live the life you have dreamed about.
From the moment I decided to change my thoughts to lightness and positivity, my life started to change for the better. It was almost as if I had been clogging my mind with so much negative garbage that I didn’t have space for anything else to go in. And then, as I stayed with the new thinking and direction, things started to shift for me.
The happiness and lightness of life that you once had can come back, if you allow it in.
The first step is to believe. Belief is half the battle.
Once you have the belief that you can make the change—as you become more determined to change and feel free again—the next steps will become easier.
The second step is to become aware of what you are putting into your mind.
Learn to be more aware of what you are feeding your mind, because it has a great affect on what you think and how you feel. Yes, it’s hard to keep track of everything that goes in, but at least when you’re in a moment of calmness, try and monitor what you are putting in. Are you revisiting that same negative topic? Are you consuming garbage disguised as ‘entertainment’? Is it really worth all the time and energy you are putting into it? And what good can you hope to gain out of it?
Feeding the mind with negativity is like feeding your body with junk food constantly. Would you really want to eat junk food all the time? And would you honestly expect to stay healthy by doing that?
Just think for a moment how draining all this drama and negativity must be for you…
Could you possibly think of a solution to put your mind at rest?
Have you recently had a disagreement with a loved one or someone at work? Is it something you can resolve by speaking to that person? Are you in a position to let go of the hurt and move on?
Some of the negativity which we fill our minds with is just temporary and next week, those thoughts will probably be a thing of the past. That is a blessing, but then, let’s not allow the next negative topic to take over.
We are literally torturing ourselves with all this negative mental chatter. And if it is not addressed at the early stages, it could cause stress and lead to health problems.
If you can’t find a solution to a problem and find it hard to let go, try to divert your mind at least for a short period of time. You could watch a comedy, read something relaxing or uplifting, listen to a piece of happy music, speak to a kind and supportive friend, or even have a short nap.
But remember, it is important that you focus on something that will uplift you, not bring you down.
Mastering the art of positive thinking takes time, but within a week of conscious thinking and filtering out the unhelpful thoughts, you will be able to see and feel a difference.
When you develop thoughts of love and appreciation for life, you will notice that the good feelings will give you more energy, more understanding and kindness towards others, more patience, better sleep and a general love towards life and yourself. Life will become lighter and you will be able to smile and laugh more.
You have the ability to make that change. You are in the driving seat and therefore in control of your mind. These thought patterns are just habits and habits can be changed. But it is down to you to make that first step. Try this for a short period of time and you will start to see the positive changes take place.
